Ship Shape Tattoo Parlor was originally opened in 1996 under a different name until 2007. With roots to the original Bert Grims Tattoo Parlor in Long Beach, CA. (The oldest existing tattoo parlor in the nation). Ship Shape opened just over the Vincent Thomas Bridge in the historical port town of San Pedro, CA. The parlor maintains the feel of a traditional tattoo parlor in its décor and attitude. The very spacious location was constructed in 1915 in a style influential to the art deco movement of the 1920’s. With sixteen-foot tall ceilings and an enormous pane glass storefront, the whole 2,400 sq foot parlor is saturated in natural light. If you desire any more history bring a friend and a Ouija board and hang out in our basement for a while!
